2025年以来，《空海传》在国际影坛频传捷报
Since 2025, KŪKAI has made waves on the international film festival circuit
空海（公元774-835年），谥号"弘法大师"，日本高僧、日本真言宗创始人、日本文化奠基人。
公元804年，空海不畏艰险、渡海求法，跟随中国唐代佛教真言宗七祖惠果法师学习。学成归国后，空海铭记师父惠果"早归乡国，以奉国家，流布天下，增苍生福"的殷重嘱托，不仅将唐代真言密教传入日本，而且将唐代先进文化和生产技术引入日本，发展日本文字，创办平民教育，兴修水利工程，庄严国土、造福民众。
空海在宗教、文学、书法、绘画、建筑、雕塑等诸多方面塑造日本文化，为推动日本古代社会发展、文化进步作出了杰出贡献，被誉为日本思想界、政治经济界、文化艺术界，乃至日常生活的伟大精神导师。
空海是中日文化交流的伟大先驱
也是中华文化的海外传承者、弘扬者、发展者
他尽己所能全面学习、系统吸收、广泛传播大唐文化，推动中华文化在日本落地生根、开花结果，在中华文化的海外传播、发展方面厥功至伟。
Kūkai (774–835 AD), posthumously titled “Kōbō Daishi,” was a revered Japanese monk, founder of Shingon Buddhism, and a pioneer of Japanese culture. In 804 AD, he bravely crossed the sea to study under the seventh patriarch of Chinese Esoteric Buddhism (Tangmi), Master Huiguo. Upon his return to Japan, Kūkai followed his master’s earnest instructions: “Hasten Back to your homeland, offer the esoteric Dharma to the nation, spread the teachings widely, and cultivate the merits of living beings”.
He not only transmitted Tang Esoteric Buddhism to Japan but also imported advanced Tang cultural practices and technological innovations. Kūkai developed the Japanese script, promoted education for commoners, carried out water conservancy projects, and glorified the nation. His influence extended across religion, literature, calligraphy, painting, architecture, and sculpture, shaping Japanese culture and society.
Recognized as a spiritual leader in politics, arts, and daily life, Kūkai was a trailblazer in China-Japan cultural exchange and a dedicated promoter of Chinese heritage overseas. He systematically absorbed and widely propagated Tang Dynasty culture, helping Chinese culture take root and flourish in Japan. His contributions to the international dissemination of Chinese civilization are truly remarkable.
本纪录片以详实考证作为创作基础，努力还原历史上真实的空海形象，深刻诠释清净居心、慈悲救世，无我利他、愿行无尽的空海精神。我们希冀在全球弘扬空海精神，唤醒人们内心深处清净、善良、光明的种子，让不同国家、不同民族、不同语言、不同文化背景的人们在空海精神的感召下以心相交、以诚相待，为增进人类福祉、推动构建人类命运共同体贡献绵薄之力。
大唐先进文明塑造了空海精神，是中华文化海外传播的优秀案例。我们也希望通过纪录片再现唐代中外文化交流盛况，彰显中华文明突出的和平与包容特性，展现中华文化巨大的传播力、感召力、影响力，为促进当今世界不同文明和谐共存、交流互鉴和人类文明发展进步提供智慧借鉴。
Based on rigorous historical research and verification, this documentary strives to restore an authentic image of Kūkai, profoundly interpreting his spirit characterized by “purity of heart,” “compassion for all beings,” “selflessness and altruism,” and “boundless vows and practice.” We aspire to promote Kūkai’s spirit globally, awakening the inner seeds of purity, kindness, and light within every heart. Our goal is to inspire people of different nations, ethnicities, languages, and cultural backgrounds to connect sincerely and engage heart-to-heart, guided by his ideals. In doing so, we hope to contribute modestly to human well-being and the building of a shared future for all humankind.
The advanced civilization of the Tang Dynasty shaped Kūkai’s spirit, serving as a remarkable example of Chinese culture’s historical influence and dissemination abroad. Through this film, we aim to recreate the vibrant cultural exchanges of the Tang era, highlighting the peaceful and inclusive nature of Chinese civilization. By showcasing its enduring resonance and influence, we seek to offer wisdom and inspiration for the harmonious coexistence and mutual learning of diverse civilizations, fostering progress for humanity in the modern world.
